The Port Ellen 40 Years Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey is an extremely rare whiskey from the Ghost Distillery Port Ellen, which is guaranteed to make the hearts of whiskey lovers and collectors beat faster. The premium whiskey, bottled in just 1380 bottles, comes from a marriage of nine Rogue Casks aged for 40 years and was unchill filtered and colored to preserve its original character before being bottled at cask strength at 50.9% ABV distort. The whiskey masterpiece shows grassy and herbal aromas on the nose paired with notes of caramel, red fruit compote and burnt tangerine peel and some smoke. Its taste is characterized by spicy and woody notes, resonating tones of smoke, tobacco and leather and a long and slightly smoky finish.

Rarely found on the market, Port Ellen 40 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey is the distillery's oldest bottling and also the smallest. It was distilled in 1979 and then matured in nine casks that have long remained undiscovered. These were four American oak hogsheads and five European oak butts. After 40 years, the nine Rogue Casks were created by Master Blender Dr. discovered by Craig Wilson, who then carefully married her. The result is a fascinating old whiskey that, with its extraordinary taste and quality, fits seamlessly into the ranks of legendary Port Ellen whiskeys and is a feast for whiskey lovers.
