This Grappa Barolo from the Santa Teresa dei F.lli Marolo distillery belongs to the premium segment and proves once and for all that a pomace brandy comes very close to excellent wine. The much-praised masterpiece is distilled from the Barolo pomace, which is based on the typical Italian Nebbiolo grape variety. And the Nebbiolo grapes are known to provide the high-quality basis for the 100% pure Barolo red wine from Italy, which has an excellent reputation. As a dry red wine, the Barolo belongs to the prestigious red wines of Italy together with the Brunello and the Amarone. A tribute to him is this noble pomace brandy.
The Grappa Cristallo Oro from Marolo is a numbered special bottling, of which there are only 400 bottles to buy. This unique grappa was distilled in 1988, and then it was allowed to be stored in wooden barrels with a small capacity for many years. The label of the stylish bottle is made of pure gold (25 to 27 g / 750 gold) and gives the quality product even more luxury. In addition, the gift pack contains 10 hand-signed and numbered lithographs by the master Gianni Gallo. He is a friend of the distillery founder and owner Paulo Marolo and also the artist of the first labels of the distillery.
Paolo Marolo's distillery Santa Teresa was only founded in Piedmont at the end of the 70s and is still considered one of the elite today. In the renowned Marolo house, computer-assisted distillation is dispensed with, so that the firing process must be monitored by hand and you proceed with attention to detail in a traditional way. In this way, the process can be adapted to the quality and texture of the pomace used. The distiller distills with two apparatuses in a water bath, one is reserved for the white pomace and the other for the red pomace. Although it is not possible to produce large quantities of pomace brandies, the properties of the raw materials used are brought to their full development individually. This is thanks to the exclusive Marolo Grappa Barolo Cristallo Oro with an inimitable character.
